It is a such a lovely walk to the village of Benamargosa below Vine Ridge Retreats.
Especially in Spring when the temperature is ideal for the 90 minute walk and the wild spring flowers are in full flow.
Initially after cutting across the lovely campo which surrounds Vine Ridge Retreats I then cut down onto the main Comares hill.
Although a main road as such, I think I saw more cyclist’s struggling to climb the hill than cars.
The views are outstanding all the way down and lovely to look back at base for a large majority of the walk.
Once down the hill, you then get to the bottom road, it is an easy enough walk not many climbs and lovely to cut through Salto del Negro, a charming little village which is a step back in time.
Throughout the walk you are surrounded by Mango and Avocado groves and Lemon trees in abundance.
Then when you cross over the river at the other end of Salto del Negro there is pretty much footpath all the way to Benamargosa, where a cold beer and hot tapa was very welcome.
Lucky for me my kind hearted wife Jacqui picked me to save me old legs as the climb back up is another story.
