It has all been said before.just read them and believe, they are all true. Big thank you yet again to David andJacqui for being great managers and always being there to help if needed.
We had a great holiday at Villa Las Palomas, the communication with David and Jacqui from Vine Ridge Retreats was excellent, from first enquiry thru to booking, all questions answered quickly.
The drive to the villa from Malaga airport was nice and easy on good roads. We stopped off at the very large EROSKI supermarket to stock up on groceries, which is on the roundabout that you take off the A-7 motorway to the A-356. David from Vine Ridge Retreats called a few days later to check all was well, he was very easy to talk to and gave us some ideas of places to visit and was always easy to contact and on hand to if any problems were to occur.
The property itself was very clean, well-appointed with everything that you could possibly need. The TV is a flat screen with basic English channels. The villa is located in a secluded, peaceful and relaxing spot with views down the valley. The pool was warm enough for day/night swimming, and the pool man comes once a week to check and clean the pool and to water the plants etc. On the terrace there were sun loungers, various tables and comfy chairs giving options for dining/relaxing in the sun or shade.
We visited Torre Del Mar a few times, also visited Nerja, Torrox and Comares, each time having lunch at one of the restaurants.
I honestly don't have a bad word to say about our experience only that we wished it could have lasted much longer!
We spent 2 weeks at Casa Las Palomas in the 2nd half of August. From the moment we arrived, our reaction to the views, the villa and the pool were just wow, and every day we woke up on our holiday we felt the same, incredibly priviledged and halted in our tracks by the stunning views. The villa is really well equipped, lovely air con and ceiling fans and just everything you need. We took some trips out to Comares, Nerja, Puerto Banus (1 hr 45 mins drive) and Lake Viñuela. But our favourite days were those with nothing to do except swim, sunbathe, read, watch youtube (2 teenage boys!), have a siesta, float round the pool, cook a barbeque, open the wine, surf through the property websites to see if we can abandon England and move to this part of Spain, and then swim again after dark! Its truly the best villa we have ever stayed in with some of the most beautiful views to be found anywhere in the world. It is remote and yes you have to drive a fair way for shops and supermarkets and not many locals speak a lot of English but that's what we loved - being off the tourist trails and in real rural Spain, enjoying the peace, recharging our batteries and slowing the pace of life to a crawl. Can't wait to come back.
We've stayed in various villas in the Comares area over the last few years. Our specifications to David were, peace and quiet, total privacy and a great comfortable outside space. He certainly delivered when he recommended Casa Las Palomas to us on all counts!!. The villa is beautiful with air con throughout - a MUST HAVE in July - and all mod cons. This home is obviously loved by the owners. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a fabulous holiday. The villa and all outside areas are very well maintained. It has the best BBQ we've used and great areas of shade when needed. We felt very safe and secure. The views are simply breathtaking and something you would never tire of looking at. A vast area but so so quiet. David was available for any questions we had and was a pleasure to deal with. I feel I should issue a warning - YOU WILL NOT WANT TO LEAVE. Simply heaven and we can't wait to return. Thanks David for all your help.
Thanks David and Jacqui for introducing us to this absolutely stunning villa. The views are fantastic, just the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun. We’ve been to this area numerous times, this is by far the one of the best villas we’ve had the pleasure to stay at. Great facilities throughout, well equipped and a great families my feeling. Stunning area and views and a great base to explore the region. Would love to plan our return.
we stayed for 14 days everything you wanted was in the villa and it was very high class. the pool was magic nice and cooling from the very hot sun. there was plenty of shade if you wanted it. if you are looking for the best then this is the villa to go to. and it is very isolated if that is what you want. David the manager was very helpful and a nice chat
Don’t need to say anymore really, but we will.
This was our second stay at ‘Una Paloma Blanca’ as we like to call it. 18 nights this time. Nothing had changed from last year. Everything you need to feel like you are still at home, but with added guaranteed sunshine and a beautiful swimming pool. We wanted for ‘Nowt’, as we say up north. We loved the peacefulness, sun traps and shaded areas of this wonderful villa. Then there is the wildlife too. Lizards and geckos galore, grasshoppers and praying mantis, frogs and toads croaking, various size bats flying by at dusk, swallows drinking from the pool, and last but not least our close friend ‘Desmond’ the Dragonfly who visited us every day by the pool. ‘Two years running now’. We are already missing the views of the valley, magnificent sunrises, crystal clear starry starry nights. We will be back !
We stayed for 8 nights in the wonderfull villa las Palomas.
The views are just excellent! The house itself is very well equiped and the rooms and bathrooms are very pleasant.
The garden is lovely. We stayed at the end of April and the garden was full with flowers, nice palm trees. The views are stunning on to the surrounding hills.
The pool - although not really warm at this time of year - was perfect.
David was very welcoming and if we had a question or something, he was very helpfull.
We also visited Granada (make reservations for the Alhambra well in advance), Cordoba and Malaga. All very nice cities.
I would definitally recommed to spent your relaxing holiday in this very nice villa, with the nice villages and restaurants within easy driving distance.
We stayed for a week in August and got everything we wanted. Although the drive down the mountain was very hairy the first time it did feel a little less heart-stopping with each drive out! Fantastic views and very private. The villa felt spacious and had everything you needed, like a home from home. We all loved the pool which felt warm by late afternoon. Great Air-Con, which was needed! Table Mountain restaurant in Comares was worth the 15 minute drive. We would recommend booking through Vine Ridge retreats.
We had a fantastic break with our two daughters aged 9 & 11. The views are breathtaking, and waking up to the view from the master bedroom will stay with us. The villa offers everything that you would want but the one thing that we loved was the privacy and the feeling that you were the only ones with the views.
The garden is beautiful and in August we were able to pick apples, limes and a mango from the trees that sit in the grounds.
During our stay we have a couple of issues that were quickly resolved by David and Jacqui who were brilliant.
We would happily come back again to stay.
