we stayed at casa Mendoza for 10 nights mid sept. the villa is well furnished, maintained and presented. everything you need for a good holiday is there. The views are breath taking and the peace and tranquillity adds to a relaxing stay. I hope this wont be the last we see of casa Mendoza.
We stayed at the property for 10 nights in August, which is a couple of kilometres from Comares, along a narrow track. The views from the balcony are magnificent and the position of the villa makes it completely private from the other villas dotted around the valley. It is impossible not to relax and unwind the minute you step out of the car on arrival. The area is so serene and beautiful, it really is the ideal place to find peace.Comares is within walking distance, taking around 40 minutes at a relaxed pace – probably best to leave it until early evening when it gets a little cooler. There are a few restaurants and bars to chose from, and you can normally get a taxi back from the square – although one evening we did walk back with the aid of a torch.Benamagosa is a half hour drive away and you will find everything you need shopping wise. There are a couple of supermarkets, together with a butcher and a few bars and restaurants. We did a big shop on route from Malaga airport at Erisko, velez Malaga, and topped up every couple of days locally. It is about a 40 minute drive to the coast if you fancy a beach day.The villa is very much home from home and equipped with absolutely everything you could possible need for a family holiday. In fact, on this trip we rarely strayed from the balcony and pool area because from morning through to night it really is the most glorious spot to sit and chill out!We visited as a couple, but the villa is big enough to house a party of 5 or 6.We cooked almost every evening on the outdoor barbeque which was lovely, and we found it had magic powers, as anything we left on it had disappeared by the morning! If, like us, you lead a hectic and full on life and are looking for somewhere to thoroughly unwind for a few days, then this is the place to go. It is a delightful villa in a stunning position, and there is nothing better than watching the sun go down while sitting on the balcony looking at the spectacular landscape with a cold beer or glass on wine in hand!It is our second trip to Comares, courtesy of David and Jacqui, and we are already looking forward to planning our next.
I definitely recommend Casa Mendoza, it's a really comfortable and attractive villa, with one or two stand out features... The first being the large patio area with lovely pool and shady veranda with table, chairs and comfy sofas. The second is the stunning views of the mountains every where you sit outside, and the peace. The villa is a little way out of town and away from other neighbours, which makes it very private. We lived outside all week, apart from when we watched the Olympics on the BBC in the evenings, which we were delighted to find as a bonus. The pool was spotlessly clean and perfect for cooling off and there are plenty of sun beds with loads of space on the patio. We enjoyed a walk each morning - there are paths everywhere - and our favourite was a circular walk into Comares, which is a delightful town. Have a drink outside the cafe in the small town square or in the delightful hotel courtyard before heading back to the villa via a shortcut over the hill, avoiding the main road. We managed a couple of excursions and a few meals out (all good) but mostly found excuses to walk into Comares or relax at the villa all week. David, Nick and Jo were all really helpful before and during our stay - thanks very much to all of you.
August 2016Not sure I can add a great deal more than has already been said in the previous reviews. A beautiful Villa in a stunning location. Would definitely recommend Table Mountain, the food is a notch above the other restaurants/bars in the area. (In my opinion!) Good days out at El Torcal and Grenada, but otherwise simply chilled on the patio/in the pool or ambled into Comares for a leisurely beer or coffee. Splendid.
We stayed at Casa Mendoza for a week in July - party of 6. The villa is fabulous - outdoor terrace being my particular favourite. The views are spectacular and the peace and quite perfect for a relaxing holiday. We were fortunate to see eagles and had two hovering at close range before diving. I'd highly recommend this villa. Thanks Nick for all the information beforehand and David and Jacqui for being so welcoming and accommodating.
this is a truly beautiful villa .The surroundings and view are spectacular .it offers peace and tranquility and yet is close to a lovely village and some very nice restaurants . Everything you could possibly need to enjoy a self catering holiday is to hand and is of a very high standard . The pool is clean and private . I would recommend it to friends and family without hesitation . Both Nick and David were informative ,communicative and made the whole experience a pleasure .
Villa has a fantastic view over the valley and towards the mountains. Having dinner watching the sun setting was just magical.Villa clean and well maintained and had everything we needed for our holiday. Had a fabulous outside area to sit on when the sun got too much.Nick the owner was great, very helpful and friendly and David the manager was helpful and accommodating. You can walk to Comares (1.5km) which has a small local supermarket, bank and some bars. The other village Los Ventorros has a very nice restaurant (Table Mountain) which I would recommend.Córdoba Is within driving distance to visit and certainly very pretty.Villa Mendoza is a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine and fantastic views.
We were a party of six age range 30 - 84 and all highly recommends Casa Mendoza. The views were stunning, it was like living in a nature program. The Eagles would regularly fly overhead and two fortunate members of the party saw one dive down and catch a snake. There was always something to watch a great shame we forgot binoculars The sunsets were amazing to watch with a drink in hand as were the stars without the light pollution The villa itself was very well equipped and clean, with good sized bedrooms and comfortable beds. The shutters on the windows were great, total blackout. We were impressed there was always enough hot water for showers in the evening, hot water being supplied on demand rather than stored. The pool was enjoyed by all. There was plenty of comfortable seating in the shaded area, very good for an afternoon nap. We walked easily to Comares from the villa where you could get fresh bread in the morning and any other bits and pieces. Communication between Nick and David from the management company was very good. Table Mountain was our favourite restaurant. But for good local food at more than reasonable cost was El Cruse on the junction before turning of for Vella Malaga. We really did enjoy our stay and would highly recommend Casa Mendoza.
