Las Encinillas

Beautiful villa, had everything we needed, very quiet and amazing views

To all the fans of vineridge retreats you will know they like every one to leave a review, but we have been to Las Encinillas so often ,as you can see from previous reviews, there is not a lot more to say, except it is still a great place for a peaceful holiday.
So let's for a change a something about David and Jacqui who own vineridge retreats. I know it,s been said before,but these two lovely people really do make a your holiday in rural Spain special. There knowledge of the area is outstanding, especially if you like walking,which David is a great fan of via some lovely tapas bars on the way.So all we can say is ,if you want to try rural Spain Comares is the way to start. This was our third stay in Comares with Vine Ridge Retreats and I'd did not disappoint! Having always gone to the more rural villas it was fantastic to be on the edge of the village - the perfect location for us - still quiet but a few minutes walk to the amenities in the village. Perfect location for some early morning hikes as well!
The villa itself is a lovely spacious home - with loads of cute little areas - the kids loved the outside den space!
Loved seeing the mountain goats hanging around on the land up from the pool and also we miss the cat!!!

Our second visit to this lovely villa and it’s even better than before! The new outdoor shaded seating area is great and we used this a lot during the afternoons. The outside toilet is also a great addition and saves you the walk back up into the house during the day. The villa is well equipped and very clean and the fans in the bedroom were especially appreciated. The pool is fantastic, so beautifully clean and well maintained - it was a joy to swim in. We used the bbq a few times but the nearby restaurants are so good and such great value (especially Mirador) that we did eat out quite a bit. We enjoyed a couple of meals up in the Green Olive restaurant too if you don’t mind the 15 minute walk up to Comares. A huge thank you to David & Jackie who made the holiday so easy and enjoyable yet again. We look forward to returning to Las Encinillas again!

We enjoyed a lovely week in May in Las Encinillas as 4 couples. The accommodation is traditional, homely and peaceful. We particularly enjoyed the outside area, relaxing by the pool in the sun, also cooking and eating there together some evenings. On other evenings we walked along to eat at the Mirador close by or into the village 10 to 15 minutes away to enjoy the delights of Comares. The Atalaya across the road from Las Encinillas was very random in its opening hours when we were there so we never did eat or drink there.

David and Jacqui were very helpful and always on hand to help.

We are all hoping to return to Las Encinillas again next year to join friends who have a holiday house in Comares.

Hello everyone.Really don't know what to write again. As we said before,yet again, it was out fourth time at Las Encinillas, 3rd June _4th July 2024. The villa hasn't changed much. it is still very homely and well equipped.
Watch out for the Ibex that stroll through the grounds on a regular basis and the Shepard who comes through with his 200 goats, he speaks some English and is very friendly.His return journey with the goats is usually after dark. Finally a big thank you to David and Jacqui

As this was our third monthly. Stay at Las Encinillas there is not much more to say. It is a homely and well equipped villa with everything needed for self catering. It is not like a basic holiday rental. As soon as you walk through the door it feels welcoming.We have already booked for next summer. Yet again many thanks to the great couple David and Jacqui. Nothing is too much much trouble for them to ensure you have a great holiday. See you soon. John @Jenny.

We have stayed here twice in this Villa and visited Comares three times. The Villa is so well equipped and homely.
David and Jacqui are always there to help if any issues.
The local restaurants are superb. Here for the Feria which has been amazing too.
The evenings on the balcony are incredible with the sunset and the mountain goats passing by.
Comares is a 15 minute walk away and all you need is there. Great little shop and staff.
Velez Malaga and Nerja are only 45/60 mins drive away. Comares has it all.

We stayed for 8 nights at the end of May and were not disappointed. The Villa is furnished in the more traditional style but has everything that you need and was spotlessly clean. It is very easy to find and although it’s on the edge of the village it’s very private and the pool is not over looked. We had 4 boys with us aged 7-11 and there was a fantastic 5 aside football pitch and basket ball court a couple of minutes walk away, on an evening the boys arranged football matches with the local children which was so nice to see and the language was not a barrier, the plus for the parents was there is a nice little bar at the end so you can sit and watch your kids while having very reasonably priced drinks (beer or wine €2 each). We had lunch and drinks in the village square, the shop is well stocked. We had days out at the beach in Nerja and the shopping centre at Velez-Malaga has a very good selection of shops. When we arrived the internet had been knocked out in a storm but David arranged it to be fixed very quickly. We love this area of Spain and tend to stay in the less touristy villages slightly inland, hopefully we will be back.

3rd visit to this villa and won’t be our last! Love the villa and the pool and the views are amazing. The local bars and restaurants are great value and very friendly. David and Jacqui are the best hosts especially when we locked ourselves out 20 minutes after getting there!!
