The apartment is the biggest rental at Vine Ridge and is similar in style to the studio but has the added benefit of another room with a single bed, which is ideal for couples/friends wanting to sleep separately or for an extra adult.
The kitchen as with the studio is Spanish influenced with curtained units in a colourful style and has a fridge/freezer, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, toaster and everything you would expect in regards to cutlery and utensils.
There is a table in the kitchen area for use when the weather is not nice enough to enjoy the outside dining space.
There are 2 comfy armchairs that have been positioned to soak up the incredible views that are beyond the 2 metre windows.
Opposite the armchairs is a TV, with some English channels, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & 5 and a DVD player and there are also plenty of books always at hand for you to read or refer to.
The shower room has a large walk in mosaic tiled shower and WC and basin.
Outside of the Apartment are tables and chairs in your own area and rustic stairs leading up to the pool terrace.
We have added a Jacuzzi for use in the Autumn/Winter months.

The apartment and studio sit side by side and allow friends to book both whilst maintaining an element of independence within their own environment.

We had every intention of doing lots of walking whilst based at Vine Ridge …. but the views were so spectacular from our apartment that we ended up gazing out at them in wonder from the comfort of a sun chair, or bench, or dining table, or poolside (basking in the sunshine the while) … or bed!Our visit in late January was a taste of heaven with the almond blossom sprinkling the mountain slopes with foams of blossom - and smelling of honey - and a perfect mix of warm sunshine and cool, fresh mountain air. The pretty village of Comares, perched on top of the hill behind Vine Ridge, is a reasonably strenuous but perfect evening walk for when the day is cooling. There is a very good shop for stocking up if self-catering and a few good places to eat when feeling lazy. The most relaxing way to end a touring holiday of Andalusia. We are coming back at the next opportunity to see more of this beautiful and tranquil area … and to enjoy David and Jaqui’s easy-going and warm hospitality. A place in a million!
If flying, I rarely go to the same place twice: life is too short. Vine Ridge is an exception - I've now been there four times ! The location is stunning, rooms generous and well-equipped, and David and Jacqui the perfect hosts - what more could one really want?!
What can I say, Vine Ridge is an amazing place, scenery is breathtaking and such a peaceful and relaxing place. We arrived at Malaga airport and picked up our hire car (glad that we chose an automatic as it helped with all the mountains we had to navigate). The directions David emailed were great. The initial drive up to the apartment is pretty scary and I didn't think that we would ever dare go back down, but surprisingly, once you have done it a few times it seems pretty easy and well worth it as the views are amazing. David and Jacqui are great hosts and always available when needed, a good source of information and advice about the local area. Our daughter loved the 3 dogs, Chico, Charlie and Bruno. We spent the first couple of days unwinding and just relaxing and then decided to go out and take in some of what the area has to offer. We decided on a trip out to Bermejales reservoir, which was beautiful and even in the middle of July was very quiet with hardly anybody on the beach area in front of the reservoir. We hired a pedalo and had great fun swimming in the clear, warm water of the lake. Be sure to take a picnic and plenty of drinks though as there is only a small campsite behind the beach and facilities on the beach are not great. We also walked up the old goat track to Comares, which was hard work but well worth it, the village itself is charming. The nearby beaches at Nerja and Torrox are lovely and you can hire equipment and do some water sports at Buriana beach in Nerja, which is great fun. The nearest supermarket is in Benemagosa - 15 mins drive down which has everything you need to stock up with.We spent a lot of time in the evenings just sitting outside our apartment and staring in awe at the amazing view of the Andalusian mountains. We had lovely barbecues and shared lazy days with our books by the pool. The pool area is lovely and clean with plenty of sun loungers. David also stocks the fridge/freezer by the pool with icecream, water, beers and wine, which was a fab idea and very welcome. Our 10 year old daughter wanted to spend most of her time playing in the pool, we had to drag her away to the beach and for trips out.We can highly recommend a trip to Frigiliana, an absolutely beautiful place to visit. Gorgeous views, lovely shops and a nice place for a meal, La Taberna del Sacristan is an amazing place to eat, the food is fantastic, the best place that we ate in our 2 weeks holiday.Forget the all inclusive, package deals offered to tourists, go to Vine Ridge Resort in the Andalusian mountains and really get away from everything and relax in the "Real Spain".A great value family holiday in a fantastic setting.David and Jackie, thank you once again for this special taste of paradise.
We just stayed a little over a week in one of the downstairs appartments. We had the best time. The apartment is not too big but offers plenty of (storage)space anyway, and it is very well equipped. On top of that were treated to wine, juice, milk, jam, bread, and eggs on our arrival. The views are amazing, different every day and just sitting there and looking at the mountains, the flowers, the birds, the clouds and the sun is heavenly. And then there is plenty to do in the surroundings. We will go back! The doggies are our best friends now. Highly recommended place to stay! And very nice hosts.
We have just spent two wonderful relaxing weeks at Vine Ridge Retreats. We stayed in the apartment which was spotlessly clean, well equipped and had spectacular views. We were treated to amazing daily sunrises and sunsets which we could view from our bed each day. The whole atmosphere is relaxing ,there is a great pool ,ample sun beds and barbecue facilities available.David and Jacqui are great hosts who are there if you need them ,but allow you the level of privacy you require. They manage to strike a great balance. The dogs are brilliant and Chico,Charlie and Bruno will always be remembered as a big part of the enjoyment of our holiday. It's a great area with access to the A7 allowing you to drive around Andalusia with ease.To sum up ,great views, great hosts great place and we would recommend to friends and visit again.
After contacting Dave and Jacqui only a few days before our arrival, they gave myself and Dave a great deal to stay a few days at their apartments at the beautiful Vine Ridge and then the rest of the holiday at one of the private villas. Vine Ridge was lovely and relaxing with a stunning view up in the hills and Dave and Jacqui were brilliant hosts- there was food and drink in our fridge on arrival (which was much needed) and they were always on hand for advice on where to go or if we needed some charcoal for the BBQ! Perfect service- beautiful rooms and pool- will be booking again next year at one of the villas with our son Mason!
You'll never tire of the stunning views from 'Vine Ridge', especially at dusk when the mountains get sprinkled with fairy dust. It's difficult to drag yourself away, but it's worth it just for the drive back, and 'that view' again! Well done David and Jacqui, you've created 'holiday heaven'. Please DON'T change a thing. Our young family loved our 'Spanish' holiday. They could have slept in the pool, and played with the dogs all day. I believe you won't find a better place for value, relaxation, and views. Can't wait to return! Peter, Jo, Croyde and Annabelle
