The location is stunning with far reaching views and the quality of the villa throughout is excellent with no expense spared to make this a beautiful rental home.
It is obvious throughout that this majestic villa is Spanish owned as no other nation could have created the look of authenticity throughout this villa which combined with it’s modern fittings and practicalities makes it a perfect holiday home.
The views speak for themselves and no photographs can really capture how majestic and awe inspiring they really are and you will never get bored of seeing how the shadows and light condition opens up a glimpse of something you missed the first time from a eagle to a another white washed house on the horizon.
The 8 x 4 m Roman stepped pool captures the sun and helps you relax and frame the views and as it is salt water filled, then smell and taste of chlorine is not an issue.
Once you have convinced yourself that you ought to leave the pool, then a lovely stone built BBQ is available for you to use and then when you wish to dine al-fresco you can sit in the shade on the veranda or if the sun is dropping and a little more shade is required then at the push of a button the awning will provide more.
Plenty of outside space is provided allowing for parking, terraces and also a sweet garden, there is also a gated entrance so a lovely environment for children to be able to play in.
Casa la Trocha has 3 beautiful bedrooms, the master with an en-suite with a bath.
The second bedroom has sleeping via twin beds, there is plenty of hanging space in both bedrooms.
The third bedroom also has twin beds.
The main bathroom has a quality Spanish style shower, with lovely tiles.
A great kitchen which is well equipped with lovely views and has a great feel and you can look out onto the pool and views whilst cooking a paella.A separate oven or hob are for your disposal and the fridge freezer is a good size, above all this kitchen is very well equipped with utensils which the chefs amongst you will love.Being created open plan the area of cooking and conversation works well with those wishing to relax in the dining room and lounge area not being isolated from the cooks in the family.
There is Spanish TV with a small element of English speaking channels, but a DVD and English films can provide the entertainment later in the night once you have finished swimming in the night air.
A cooling breeze is a hallmark of Comares and with the added bonus of fans and nets on all the windows you will sleep well even in the peak summer months.
Also unlimited WiFi provided at a small fee of only £10 extra per week.
In winter the views stay stunning and the Villa becomes cosy with a lovely log burning fire.
The Villa is less than a minutes drive from the main road and is accessed via a concrete track.
The owners brother whose own place is just down the track is a local taxi driver so he can provide a great value service and allow you to be tempted with an extra glass of vino with the meal and not worry about driving, the beauty is that you don’t need to try and explain where you live, I think he can find his sisters villa !
Not only will you fall in love with this fantastic villa but also the nearby village of Comares, which as everyone says, once discovered never forgotten, it will get under your skin and stay in your memories forever with it’s Moorish influenced styling and the fact that it has not been spoilt by the influx of tourism.

Just returned from two amazing weeks at this beautiful, traditional Spanish villa set in a stunning location with wonderful mountain views and the Mediterranean in the distance. We felt instantly relaxed as soon as we walked through the door because it felt like a home rather than a holiday let. The pool area is huge with the most amazing views and was a welcome relief when the temperature hit 40 degrees! The beds were extremely comfy, shower was powerful and the kitchen had everything we needed. Just a 25 minute walk up a steep track to the beautiful white village of Comares and 40 minutes drive from the beach for when we fancied a change of scene and plenty of beautiful walks on our doorstep made this a perfect place for our summer escape. Communication with David and Jacqui was quick and easy, this was our second stay in one of their villas and it won't be the last, highly recommended.
What can I say? An absolutely beautiful villa in a truly amazing setting. The views are absolutely amazing and the villa is so peaceful. We had an amazing two weeks and will definitely be back again in the future. The villa is so unique and has so many lovely personal features, we really couldn't have asked to stay in a nicer house! The pool was fantastic and the garden is lovely, and David and Jacquie were really helpful.
As previous reviewers have said, the Casa is in a fantastic setting, being close to the beautiful hilltop village of Comares, the hamlet of Los Ventoros and below to the surrounding lovely white villages.
The Villa is typically Spanish and is a credit to owners Miguel and Maria, who are rightly proud of their home.
The Casa has everything you need to completely self cater (I loved the toaster!!) and the drinks cabinet is a stunning piece of furniture that you couldn’t help admire (and sample if you wished).
The views from the Casa are beyond describing, from the heights of Mount Maroma, the rock (La Pena) to the expanse of the wide valley down to Benamargosa, Velez Malaga, to the sea at Caleta de Velez and further along the coast to the lovely town of Torre del Mar.
The Villa has a fabulous pool (which we used every day) and the wonderful tranquil surroundings made this villa an excellent choice.
In our opinion the Casa is highly recommended for peace and tranquility. Also, much appreciated was the patience and perseverance of David and Jacqui at Vine Ridge Retreats who assisted us with our search.
We loved our 12 day break and would highly recommend Casa la Trocha as a perfect base to travel around this area, particularly beautiful is Lake Vinuela and the surrounding villages.
Just returned from a lovely week Casa la trocha, just what we wanted to relax and enjoy the area. The views are amazing, the pool beautiful, and the villa is typically Spanish and very well equipped. Easy to get from the airport and around the area.
We will certainly use Vine ridge rentals if we return to this lovely part of Spain.
Had a great time, lovely villa and pool with fantastic views. Very tranquil area and private setting. Not too long a drive to Velez Malaga for shopping and beach and easy to get to/ from the airport. Villa is well apointed and well maintained. Highly recommended.
Hello David,
Many thanks for (once again) providing us with a superb location for us to stay during our recent 3 weeks+ residency there in the area. As you can imagine, we would certainly recommend this Casa to anyone wishing to rent quality accommodation in this lovely area. And, thank you again for your excellent service in connection with this booking.
We have stayed in a number of houses & villas over the years, but Casa La Trocha is easily the best. We needed a place that was tranquil and quiet and that's what we got. The house has everything that you could possibly need. Very clean and comfortable with a lovely traditional Spanish homely feel.
The Salt water pool is an absolute joy and superbly maintained by a very unobtrusive Spanish gentleman. The pool area and BBQ are perfect for relaxing and eating out.
This is a perfect base for chilling or exploring the local villages and coastline.
The guys from Vine Ridge were faultless and could have been more helpful, they are now top of our list for our next trips.
Having stayed in many different houses in and around Andalusia, it's hard to beat the view from Casa La Trocha. It's glorious to sit on the patio and watch the colours change over the landscape around you. The casa is very easy to find and only an hour from Malaga, but you couldn't be further away from the hussle and bustle.
It took a little getting used to the salt water pool, and it is strange at first when you're so used to chlorine! The interior is well equipped and spacious; it's very traditional, and this would be the only reason for giving 4 not 5 stars. It felt a little gloomy inside. Of course you'll spend most of your time outside by the pool or exploring the area, so it's purely a matter of taste.
You cannot fault Vine Ridge Estates for their help and service and we'll definitely look to book through them next year for our Andalusian hideaway!
We all loved it! (2 adults and 2 kids.) Easy to sit and watch the kids play in the pool whilst looking out at the stunning scenery. We barely left the villa! We will definitely be back to the area as it is a piece of heaven.
So the track up to the villa is a bit daunting at first, but it soon becomes part of the adventure! The villa itself is delightful - a taste of true Spain with amazing views. We spent hours just watching the clouds on the mountain, spotting eagles and gazing at the stars at night. David and Jacqui were great hosts, friendly but not intrusive and made us very welcome. We will certainly be back but when the weather is a bit warmer and we can take full advantage of the beautiful pool!
