This lovely Casita is located in the lovely untouched hamlet of Llano Almendra, simply pronounced Yano Almendra. This is nestled between the villages of Benamargosa and Riogordo, where there are shops, restaurants and banks. Riogordo is situated 39 kilometres from Malaga City and 46 kilometres from the coast at Torre del Mar. The village has an altitude of 400 metres, and lies on the scenic Route of ‘Olive Oil and Mountains.’
Benamargosa lies 37 kilometres from Malaga and 14 kilometres from the coast at Torre del Mar, on a fertile flat area surrounding the river ‘La Cueva’ at an altitude of 100 metres. It is surrounded by small hills and tropical groves and is on the scenic Route of ‘Sun and Avocado.’
This beautiful unspoilt part of Andalucía comes under the protected arm of the stunning mountain top village of Comares.
The cottage is part of one of one of the oldest buildings in the hamlet and although parts have been upgraded the character shines throughout and has even survived the threat of being flooded to accommodate a dam, a fate that was to be the destiny of the nearby village which is now Lake Vinuela.
The setting is lovely and although it would be practical to hire a car to fully enjoy what this amazing part of Andalucía has to offer, walkers will love the diversity of switching between river bed walks, mountain climbs and valley rambling. The cottage looks out onto Lemon and Orange groves, which in the summer months are a wonderful site.
The Casita at Lemon Grove is the smaller cottage. It has an open plan lounge area with Double bed, there is a kitchenette and a shower room. Ideal for couples. Wi-fi is available.
It has its own outside space area with table and chairs and BBQ.
The great pool area is located down some stairs to the lower terrace.
Next door is the larger cottage, known as Peace Cottage that sleeps up to 5 guests and the Farmhouse that sleeps 7. The Pool and lower Terraces are shared between each property.
Above Lemon Grove is one more cottage know locally as the chapel due to its styling, this is where Wesley, Sophie and Avra live with their dog and 2 cats it is handy having the owners on site for advice and the odd bit of help that may be needed, but at the same they are not obtrusive, and are as discreet or as helpful as you require.
